Double C Hire Ltd was started in January 1986 by Colin Smith. After being made redundant from Metal Box Co, Colin decided to use his knowledge and experience of tools and machinery to set up his own company.

Starting on Sutton Fields, Double C Hire moved into it’s own, small premises on Wincolmlee. Three years later, after outgrowing the “Dog Hutch,” the business moved into it current location.

Colin’s son, Philip, started to work for the company as a teenager and, with his fathers patient guidance now runs the company.
